MAKEUP BY MARIO Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil - Rose Crush🌹

When I heard this is the blush Sabrina Carpenter uses for her iconic pink cheeks in the shade rose crush, I just had to try it. I’ve been on the lookout for a creamy blush - to layer on top of my favourite Huda beauty powder and to get a dewy effect that would be perfect for summer. Check out my experience below ⬇️.

Description:

‘'A weightless cream blush balm made with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin with a sheer veil of color. The sheer formula is made with hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate while enhancing cheeks with a dewy finish.

The non-comedogenic blush grips the skin while pearlescent pigments create a luminous finish for the perfect ‘no makeup makeup’ effect.’

How to use (according to their website):

Apply the Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil over the SoftSculpt™ Transforming Skin Enhancer or your favorite base for a warm, dewy look.

  • Work the F1 Brush into the Blush Veil until hairs are evenly coated, then apply onto the apples of the cheeks, blending up towards the temple.

  • Apply with fingertips for an even more natural effect.

  • Pro-tip: Apply the Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil over your favorite setting powder for a luminous last step or set it with Soft Pop Powder Blush for a full-coverage finish. Dab onto lips for a monochromatic pop of color.

Appearance and consistency:

The colour is a beautiful, natural shade of rose with warm undertones. I felt that it would look great on my neutral skin that tends to get a bit tanned in the warmer weather. The texture is smooth and lightweight, when you swatch it with your finger, it glides very easily and does not feel heavy or sticky and it does not drag. When applied, it gives a very au naturale look - as seen in the photo below, when I swatched using my fingers, it gives a very natural look, and when I applied using my Spehora No. 4 blush brush (a generic stipple angled brush), it diffuses the colour even more.

My experience:

I have tried this over my base makeup of foundation, colour corrector, concealer and setting powder, and as it claims - it gives a sheer pop of colour where you can still see the base makeup underneath it. Perfect for a no-makeup, makeup look! One thing I did notice is that it did seem to fade away/or absorb a couple of hours into my day. This was a bit of a bummer, as it is on the pricier side, and although it is a beautiful shade and finish - I wish the lasting power was stronger. Perhaps if I tried adding blush powder on top it would last for the whole day? What do you think - share your thoughts below!

TLDR

What I loved: 😍

The colour, the feel and the finish! It’s a beautiful, natural rosy shade that gives a transparent/sheer wash of colour for the ‘I woke up like this’ look. It gives a dewy effect, and the base foundation and skin still appears until the blush.

What wasn’t so great: 😥

The staying power is not great :/ I applied using my fingers, and with a blush brush over my base makeup and setting powder. After just a few hours, I could hardly tell that I was wearing blush anymore - it just ‘absorbed’ into my skin I guess. For the higher price point, I expected a longer wear time, so this is not only dissapointing thing. I am hoping that if I add a powder blush on top, it will stay for longer!

Final thoughts: ⭐⭐⭐/5
